Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) recently announced that its locally produced Hyundai STARIA is making its international debut in Thailand with the first export shipment having departed on 3 June 2026. The 10-seater STARIA will be officially available for sale to customers in Thailand beginning 12 June, marking a landmark milestone for HMY’s export ambitions and commitment to the Malaysian automotive industry.
“The export of the Hyundai STARIA to Thailand marks the beginning of Malaysia being an export hub for Hyundai. The Hyundai STARIA is HMY’s first locally-produced model, alongside its assembly partner Inokom, Sime Motors’ assembly facility in Kulim, Kedah.
Its 7-seater variant was also named MPV ICE of the Year at the Malaysia Car of the Year (MCOTY) 2025. This recognition is a testament to its exceptional performance, premium comfort, advanced safety features and innovative design – qualities that carry through across the entire STARIA range, including the 10-seater now making its way to Thailand.
